Planning Applications apply to:

 

• New Buildings

• Some Alterations to Existing Buildings, for example:

  • Extensions (refer to FAQ)

  • Loft Conversions (with Dormers)

 

Many building projects also require Building Regulations which is dealt with in a separate manner.

 

Planning is concerned with how decisions are made about the current and future growth of cities, towns and the countryside. Local Planning Authorities are responsible for deciding whether a development (from house extension to supermarket) should be approved and go ahead.
